How has God gifted you for ministry? First Church has opportunities in ministry for all types of gifts and talents!

Altar Guild - A creative team that connects
with the worship planning team to decorate
our worship spaces based upon scriptural
themes and for special times of year.

The Asbury Club is a monthly adult gathering for fun and fellowship. Gathering on the second Sunday of each month, all adult members of FUMC are invited to participate. The evening starts in Fellowship Hall at 5:00 pm with a potluck supper followed by a game night. Decks of playing cards and some games are available or bring a game to share! If you’ve had a busy week, don’t worry about bringing food to share. If possible, please bring your plate and silverware. Ice water will be provided.

Close Knit Friends is a group that meets on Wednesday afternoons at 1:00 pm for the fun of conversation, fellowship, and doing what ever type of needlework, knitting, etc. that suits their fancy. This intergenerational group would love to welcome you!

Green Team - “The mission of the Green Team of First United Methodist Church of Neenah/Menasha is to learn, educate, and act to establish sustainable practices that help restore and protect God’s creation in our church and beyond.”

The Green Team came together early in 2025, after a group study about climate change. Believing that creation care is a responsibility of people of faith, they felt a need to act. Activities of the group include:

Recycling: Sponsoring a tour of Tri-County recycling facility and offering receptables at church for collecting things that are not part of municipal recycling such as white foam, clothing, and sneakers. Sponsoring Lithium-ion battery recycling event.
Experiencing Nature: Participating in the Fox Wolf Watershed Alliance watershed cleanup. Sponsoring a field trip to a state natural area led by a DNR manager.
Raising awareness: Placing monthly “Green Tips” in the church newsletter. Celebrating Earth Day by encouraging church members to pledge to do one new earth-friendly thing. Working with Focus on Energy to pursue an energy audit of the church.

The group meets monthly to explore opportunities to learn and serve.
New participants are always welcome.

Shepherd Group - The First Church Shepherd Group is a caring group that enjoys visiting and fellowship. The Shepherds extend the fellowship of First Church to friends and neighbors who are not able to join us in worship.

United Methodist Men (UMM) - Come join us for a social breakfast at Four Seasons Restaurant, 1104 S. Commercial St., Neenah, on the first and third Saturday of each month.
Men of all ages are invited to be a part of this group so come join us for a meal and social discussions. The food is always delicious, and the vast topics of our discussions are relevant and most interesting. All men are invited to be a part of this growing group.

FUMC'S United Women in Faith invite you to become part of the many opportunities offered for women of all ages! Come and experience the fellowship, ministry, and outreach of the FUMC UWF! UWF meets one Thursday a month in person and via Zoom. All are welcome to join us!
(We do not meet through the summer months.)
