Dora Hansen Charitable Trust
Dora Hansen lived 1876-1967 and was a member of First United Methodist Church-Neenah-Menasha. In her will, she left her savings to a trust. The purpose of the Dora M. Hansen Charitable Trust Grant is to make possible programs that would not be achieved under the normal budget of the church, and to support “benevolent, missionary, temperance, scientific, literary or educational purposes” as defined in the will of Dora Hansen. Since 1993, over $1 million has been awarded and distributed. The top three categories of things that have been awarded are mission/outreach, nurture, and youth. Some examples of specific grants are to help fund seminary tuition expenses, Habitat for Humanity home and shed builds, Senegal mission work, the Family Church Hispanic ministry, Lithuania mission work, the Fox Valley Community Table, and the community Circles of Support.
Applications for grants through the Dora Hansen Trust are due to the First United Methodist Church office via postal mail or email ([email protected]) each winter by January 31.
