ADULT WORK CAMPS currently go to Louisiana each spring to help with hurricane disaster recovery in the New Orleans area. Teams of up to 12 adults are housed and supervised by the Southeast Louisiana Disaster Recovery (an agency of United Methodist Committee on Relief). The cost per person is approximately $350. LITHUANIAN MISSION TRIP is an opportunity to experience international mission work in the Pilviskiai, Lithuanian community. Participants are housed and work with Methodist Church members in Pilviskiai. This trip is offered in cooperation with First United Methodist Church of Green Bay that is a partner church with the Methodist Church of Pilviskiai, Adults and older youth make a difference in the lives of the Pilviskiai community with building projects, social interaction, education events, and support groups. YOUNG ADULT SENEGAL AFRICA TRIP is an opportunity to experience international mission work in the Senegal, African community. Participants are housed and work with Methodist Church members in Senegal. This trip is offered in cooperation with First United Methodist Church Neenah-Menasha that is a partner church with the Methodist Missions in Senegal, Adults and Young Adults will make a difference in the lives of the West African community with projects, social interaction and education events. YOUTH MISSION WORK CAMP is an opportunity for youth, ages 14 years and older, to participate in the mission work of the church. The trip takes place every year in June.
This Tear: BAD RIVER RESERVATION – ASHLAND, WISCONSIN, JUNE 20–26, 2010
This is a repeat trip to the Bad River Reservation near Ashland, Wisconsin to continue our relationship and commitment to the UM Church on the reservation. There will be maintenance on the church and tasks in the community depending upon the needs of the residents. This will be a time of serving and sharing so the work campers will have more awareness of the Native American culture. There will be a time to see some of the beauty of northern Wisconsin. COMMUNITY FOOD TABLE prepares and serves a meal to needy people in the Neenah/Menasha area at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Neenah, 200 N. Commercial St. Meals are served to 60-80 people on the third Saturdays of January, March, May, July, September and October. Four to Five volunteers are needed to prepare, serve and clean-up.
